Story
Background
I'm Nishant Harkut, a pre-final-year student in the Integrated Post Graduate Information Technology program at Indian Institute of Information Technology, Gwalior. I began with UI/UX and graphic design, then moved into engineering because I wanted to build and test the products I had been designing.
Current work
At QuickIntell, I work on a healthcare revenue-cycle platform using Python, Go, React, TypeScript, and AWS. My work includes payer-specific EOB parsers, X12 835 ERA generation, upload and review flows, security fixes, debugging, QA, and code review.
The work has taken me from diagnosing an Amazon Bedrock production failure to correcting ERA output across 44 generators and delivering more than 40 product and security changes through five review rounds.
Projects and research
I built PocketBuddy end to end across a Kotlin Android connector, FastAPI services, a React interface, and an asynchronous AWS ingestion path. My current research projects, TinyRF-KD and Covid-RARS, examine tiny edge intrusion detection and reliability under temporal and cross-dataset shift. Both repositories are public, and the papers are still being written.
Open source
I have 16 merged upstream pull requests across Learning Unlimited, Kiwix, and the Palisadoes Foundation. The work includes Django maintenance and accessibility fixes, a TypeScript data-URL bug fix with tests, and React component refactoring based on maintainer review.
Off the keyboard
I play basketball, train at the gym, experiment with music, and still make time for graphic design and photography.
